Crunchy French Toast Sticks

Kids are big fans of this quick and easy breakfast .
Great recipe that’s fun to do with kids! The “crunch” was a nice departure from the ususal french toast. I used a pizza cutter to cut the bread into thirds and added a little sugar to the egg/milk mixture along with a bit of vanilla and cinnamon for good measure. Once they were done I topped them off with some confectioners’ sugar and real maple syrup. Great way to start your morning…..

Ingredients

Original recipe yields 4 servings

Directions

Whisk the eggs and milk together in a bowl. Spread the crushed corn flakes onto a plate.

Dip each piece of bread into the egg mixture and then press gently into the cereal, turning to coat completely. Place the breadsticks onto a plate while breading the rest; do not stack.

Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat; cook the coated breadsticks in the melted butter until golden, about 4 minutes each side.
