Garlic shrimp paste is the perfect, easy recipe for a busy weekday evening. The pasta and sautéed shrimp are mixed with a homemade creamy white wine sauce for a light but hearty meal.
Served with garlic bread and fresh arugula salad for a delicious “al fresco” summer dinner.
Shrimp is an excellent protein of the week because it cooks in about 5 minutes, whether you are preparing grilled shrimp or shrimp tacos. In this recipe, the shrimp and sauce are prepared in a single pan while the pasta is cooking and everything is ready at the table in about 30 minutes!
How to make Garlic Shrimp Pasta
Shrimp paste with garlic butter is a perfect example of simple ingredients that make a good meal in just a few steps.
Cook the pasta, reserving a cup of water to add to the sauce if necessary.
While the pasta is cooking, season (according to the recipe below) and cook the shrimp. Cook only until it is pink, it will cook a little longer in the sauce, so be careful not to overcook.
Remove and degas the pan with white wine and lemon juice.
Add the rest of the ingredients, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
Add the prawns and pasta to the pan and add the parsley. Continue stirring until heated through.
Serve with a generous dose of Parmesan cheese… and more wine, of course!
