Taco Pie



for 4 portions


¼ cup butter (55 g), chopped

3 slices of American cheese

1 cup flour (140 g)

¼ teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons of water


1 pound ground beef (455 g)

½ cup onion (75 g), chopped

½ cup salsa (130 g)

1 fried bean

1 taco seasoning

6 slices of American cheese


1 cup shredded lettuce (75 g)

1 tomato, chopped

sour cream

grated cheese


Mix the crust ingredients, except water, in the food processor bowl.

Pulverize until the mixture creates coarse crumbs. Add water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough forms a ball.

Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface. Place it in a 22-cm (9-inch) pie plate and cut off the sides.

Bake at 400°F/204°C for 10-15 minutes or until crust is golden brown.

Cook onions and beef in a medium skillet until beef is browned and cooked through. Drain if water is available.

Return beef to skillet, add salsa and taco seasoning. Cook until bubbling.

Pour into baked crust. Garnish with fried beans and cheese.

Bake for 3 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Let cool. Garnish with lettuce, tomatoes, fresh cream and cheese!
